What To Expect

Chiropractic Redlands CA What To Expect

1. Your First Visit

  • Patient Forms: Welcome to our office and congratulations on taking the first step to a healthier you! We request that our patient forms, which you will be given by the front desk, online or emailed, be filled out and submitted as soon as possible, in order for us to better serve you. The information you supply gives us a clear understanding about your history and any other information related to your condition.
  • Initial Consultation: Once your forms are complete, Ray Chiropractic will meet with you for an in-depth consultation to evaluate your situation, hear your concerns and expectations, and discuss how chiropractic care can help meet your needs. This may be in the form of a free 15-minute "discovery" consultation in which you and Ray Chiropractic will discuss your symptoms and history to decide if chiropractic is the right treatment for you.
  • Spinal Examination: Ray Chiropractic will also examine your spine and/or other joints of your body, depending on your condition. This will involve your range of motion, reflexes and flexibility. We may also perform standard neurological, postural, and orthopedic tests all of which require your consent.
  • X-Ray Analysis: We may take x-ray of your spine depending on your condition in order to determine the exact misalignment and condition of your spine. This information helps us to develop a concise and highly effective treatment plan geared to generate results in the timeliest fashion.

Evaluation Results

After reviewing your test results and health history, Ray Chiropractic will discuss recommendations for chiropractic care as well as support, if needed, from practitioners in other fields. We will address the three most important questions, which are: 1. How can he help? 2. How much will it cost? 3. How often do you need to be seen? You can be sure that our team is here to facilitate your healing and balance in the quickest and efficient way as possible.

  • Treatment Plan: When your evaluations are complete, you and Ray Chiropractic will decide together which treatments and therapies will be the best to address your condition and fit into your lifestyle. These may include chiropractic manipulation, massage, and certain types of physical therapy. Your plan can be altered as you see fit, so feel free to bring your questions and concerns to Ray Chiropractic and our wellness team, we will be more then happy to answer all your questions.
  • Wellness Program: We believe that creating optimal wellness is an ongoing lifestyle commitment that incorporates several components in addition to chiropractic manipulation. These include a nutritious diet, proper exercise, and a positive emotional state all of which become increasingly easier to maintain as your health improves. At first you may have specific temporary instructions to follow regarding your home care such as applying heat or cold, and avoiding certain types of movement or activities until your body heals. Your doctor may also give you exercises or stretches to practice at home, which can become part a regular routine. You will quickly discover that being healthy feels great and makes adapting new ways of living a fun and rewarding path.

2. Phase 1: Pain Relief

In this first phase of care, if you are in pain, that is our initial focus at Ray Chiropractic, the main goal is to improve the function of your body as quickly as possible by correcting your spine to help alleviate any discomfort and allow the body to begin the process of healing.

In some cases, care will depend on several factors including: health history, age, how long the problem has been present, intensity of symptoms and health routine. Depending on your condition, the doctor may want to work with you two to three times a week, for the first few months of care, in order to give your body the optimal health for healing as quickly as possible.

3. Phase 2: Restoring Balance

The corrective phase of your chiropractic plan is bringing your body into balance and allowing your muscles, and other tissues the opportunity to heal and strengthen. This helps prevent further injury, illness and pain. During this step of your program, you may require an average of four to eight corrections, monthly until your body can maintain the alignment on its own.

4. Phase 3: Wellness Care

When your body is pain free, the new goal becomes keeping it that way! This is accomplished by maintaining your spinal correction, and coming in to be checked periodically, maybe one or more times a month depending on your condition and lifestyle. This way, your carefully designed wellness strategy works with you to create ideal health!
